A look at my 2016 Walmart lay-away plus figures not reviewed yet.

There are quite a few action figures that I have purchased back in November of this year that I have not reviewed yet . I've been getting a lot of overtime on the job, working 6 days instead of five, plus getting home late. Now it's back to 5 days, so now I have more free time again to do the reviews. Plus some of these toys are from my Walmart lay-a-away. Have a look preview look at some future reviews below .

The first four pics are from my Walmart Christmas lay-a-away. The rest are figures purchased back in November that have not been reviewed yet. Everything from StarWars Black to Marvel Legends. Even though these are 2016 figures, they'll be reviewed in 2017, since it may take a while for the first wave of any 2017 figures to arrive in stores.

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2016!!!! A look back at two Christmas tributes from year's past.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE !!! The 2015 tribute was just a look back at the past tributes of 2014 and 2013. In the 2014 tribute, I created a WISH LIST of what I wanted in the action figure world. I think that the 2014 tribute may be more fun to view because I think it's fun to see if any of my wishes came true. Here's the link to the 2013 Tribute - http://actionfigureimagerytoyreviews.blogspot.com/2013/12/2013-christmas-tribute-look-back-at-few.html .

And here's a look back at the 2014 Tribute , the Wish list - http://actionfigureimagerytoyreviews.blogspot.com/2014/12/merry-christmas-from-action-figure.html  .

MARVEL LEGENDS - Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan Review !!!

This version of another Ms. Marvel in the Marvel Universe named Kamala Khan, is almost still somewhat of a new character because she was created not that long ago, back in 2013 . It's nice to see some of the newer characters get action figures as a Marvel Legend so soon . Carol Danvers is the original Ms. Marvel, as it is noted that Kamala Khan is a huge fan of the original . I purchased this figure of Kamala Khan at a local Walgreens for around the $ 19.99 price range.

As you can see Kamala Khan comes with quite a few accessories. She has her two alternate shape shifting arms, and comes with the torso of this Series build-a-figure Sandman. You can find out a lot more about Kamala Khan by visiting her Wikipedia profile. Now for a look at the figure out of the packaging .

For the rest of this article I'm going to refer to Kamala Khan as Ms. Khan because her full name is kind of long for writing. Very nice figure. I like how bright and vivid the colors of her attire are. A very neat combination of blue, red, and gold trim. I really love the gold bracelet on her left wrist. It's very detailed and decorative. Notice that Ms. Khan is shorter than the average Marvel Legend. She's just a little tad over 5 inches tall . This is because she is supposed to be a teenage character . However when you look at the face sculpt on the figure, she looks more like a grown woman than a teenager. Don't get me wrong the face still looks good, however I just think it kind of looks more like a masked 30 year old woman instead of a teen . Now for a look at Ms. Khan displayed with her alternate shape shifting arms .

Khan's arms can be exchanged at her elbow joints, and the default arms can easily be put back on. Of the two alternate arms, I like her punching arm/hand better. As you can tell because of the pic above of her punching the Jackal, whom I reviewed earlier and is also a fellow figure in this same wave as Khan . With her punching arm you can display Khan in a nice variety of punching poses. As for Khan's open palm alternate , I say it can be good for ( catching criminals ) by the wrist or ankle poses, and for saving lives by her grabbing someone falling, etc. Also, is it me or does Khan remind anyone else of a female version of DC Universe Classics Plastic Man whenever she's displayed with her shape shifting arms? That was one of the first things that came to my attention when I noticed . She even has the same type of red in her costume that Plastic Man has in his.  In the pics below you can see that Khan also has designs on both of her scarf flaps in the back and see how she compares size-wise to another teen character turned into a figure, the recently released Nico Minoru .

Notice the designs on Khan's scarf flaps. The same design is on both flaps. Judging by the pic above, it does looks like she shares the same body parts as Nico Minoru. Different hands and boots though every other body part looks similar .
                                                              FINAL  THOUGHTS

(1) PLAY  ABILITY  FACTOR  FOR  KIDS - The interchangeable arms are perfect for the little ones to play around with . Not too little though, 5 years old and up is fine. Younger that that may probably try to put the arm pieces in their mouths, etc.

(2) ARTICULATION - Perfect all around. If you prefer to remove her scarf the head can look upward farther because it is on a ball jointed neck.

(3) STANDING  ABILITY - This is a bit of a struggle to get her to stand without falling, despite being flat footed. However once you get that proper stance she stands well. I recommend spreading the legs outward, the way Superman stands in the intro of the Superfriends cartoon intro.

(4) WHAT  I  LIKE  BEST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - The interchangeable arms, how colorful of a figure she is and the scarf.

(5) WHAT  I  LIKE  LEAST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - It's kind of tough getting her to stand but once you get that correct stance she stands nicely as already mentioned.

(6) WHAT  COULD  HAVE  BEEN  DONE  TO  IMPROVE  THE  FIGURE ? - Make it easier for her to stand without falling down .

(7) GRADING  SCALE - On a scale of ONE thru TEN I say a 9.8 is a nice score . She would have gotten A PERFECT 10 if not for the battle you must go through to get her to stand properly . Action figures being able to stand properly without falling is a must have feature for every figure in my opinion.  If it is a struggle to make them stand I consider that a flaw.

(8) FINAL  ANALYSIS - Despite my one complaint about the standing issues, I still love this figure and think that Kamala Khan looks great no matter how you choose to display her. Rather it be with the default regular arms or the shape shifting arms, she's another great Marvel Legend figure to add to your collection . I myself think that the shape shifting arms are the best for fighting poses .

MARVEL LEGENDS - Jackal Review !!!

The Jackal is another Spider-Man villain that many may not be aware of . He is an old Spidey baddie created by Marvel in the 1960s, and this is his first time as a Marvel Legend . I purchased this figure of the Jackal for around $ 19.99 at a local Walgreens.

Just like the Lizard , the Jackal is also a college professor known as Miles Warren . Even though the packaging only mentions his name and not his profession, you will have to go to Wikipedia to get more detailed biographical information on this character. I like the old lengthy bios on the card backs better than these current short bios. Now for a look at the figure out of the packaging .

This is a very cool figure. One of the BEST Marvel Legends in a while. I'm not crazy about the Jackal as a character, but his action figure is awesome !!!Look at how detailed the fur is all over his body. Notice the black wash on his chest and midsection, giving an illusion of either different colored hairs or shading. The expression on his face is perfect for a villain, Plus the non pupil eyes give him a very sinister look . As you can see the Jackal comes with the right leg of this series build-a-figure , Sandman . Also I love the Jackal's clawed hands and the way they are displayed. His hands look as if they can be used for scratching, tearing, climbing , holding and grabbing poses. They can also be used for a victory or triumph pose. Need an example? See the pic below.
If you could caption the above pic, what would you have the Jackal say? Myself, I'm thinking maybe something like this- " At last Spider-Man, I have triumphed . I am victorious " . I just love the multiple display options that can be used with his clawed hands.
                                                               FINAL  THOUGHTS

(1) PLAY ABILITY  FACTOR  FOR  KIDS - Little kids will love this figure I think because of his sharp clawed hands. I do not recommend this figure for toddlers such as 4 years old and under though, because Jackal's head can easily come off when making him look upward. However it can also be put easily back on . However be safe we do NOT want the little ones putting his head in their mouths.

(2) ARTICULATION - Excellent all around articulation. Perfect . No limitations.

(3) STANDING  ABILITY - The figure stands well with no balance issues .

(4) WHAT  I  LIKE  BEST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - The luxury of adding a first time in the line Spidey villain to the collection. His facial expression and his big pointy ears. The clawed hands and the luxury of displaying them in multiple ways, such as climbing and fighting poses. Plus the Jackal I think is also an entirely new body sculpt/ mold . No reused parts from other figures.

(5) WHAT  I  LIKE  LEAST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - There is nothing that I dislike about this figure .

(6) WHAT  COULD  HAVE  BEEN  DONE  TO  IMPROVE  THIS  FIGURE ? - Nothing he is perfect as is .

(7) GRADING  SCALE  - A PERFECT 10 I see no flaws in this figure .

(8) FINAL  ANALYSIS - This wave has arrived in the stores very fast. I remember looking at the Jackal and the other figures in this wave online not too long ago on sites such as Toynewsi.com, etc . I thought to myself that maybe the stores will have this wave next year in 2017, however they are here now.

WWE Mattel - BECKY LYNCH REVIEW !!!

I purchased this figure of Becky Lynch at a local Walmart for the good price of around $ 9.99 . She's at this low price because she is of the Basic Series and not the Elite Series . Also she is a "First time in the line Figure" as noted on the packaging .

Now for a look at the figure out of the packaging .

I love how nicely decorated this figure is . I also love the fact that her attire is very different from the average diva figure. The goggles can be pulled up and down over her head, plus I love the luxury of having the choice to display her with or without the goggles. She's very colorful with her orange hair and purple blouse . The purple blouse flaps you see on the back can be flipped back and forth. Plus Becky is not the only diva figure with bell bottoms . As for the face, in my opinion it does not look too much like the real woman. It's a good face sculpt however I think that the figure looks slightly older than the real Becky Lynch. The figure seems to have jowls in her cheeks instead of actual dimples. A very droopy look to the figure's face although it still looks nice.
                                                              FINAL  THOUGHTS
(1) ARTICULATION - Only the head seems somewhat limited in this category . She can look slightly downward though it is tough to turn left and right due to the hair.

(2) STANDING  ABILITY - She stands well and I think the bell bottoms makes her stance more secure.

(3) WHAT  I  LIKE  BEST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - The bright vivid colors. A totally different attire from other divas, and the choice to display with or without the goggles.

(4) WHAT  I  LIKE  LEAST  ABOUT  THIS  FIGURE ? - There is nothing that I dislike about the figure .

(5) WHAT  COULD  HAVE  BEEN  DONE  TO  IMPROVE  THE  FIGURE ? - Improve head movement.

(6) GRADING  SCALE - A Perfect 10. I'm pleased 100% .

(7) FINAL  ANALYSIS - Grab this figure of Becky Lynch while you can to add to your WWE Mattel Diva collection .
